Meet Ron
A longtime resident. An experienced leader. A voice for members.
Ron Bomhoff is running for the Lake of the Pines Board to bring a "members-first" approach to community governance.
As a member for over 50 years, Ron has seen firsthand how transparency, accountability, and responsible decision-making shape the strength and character of Lake of the Pines.
He believes the role of a board member is simple: listen to members, ask thoughtful questions, and ensure decisions are made openly and in the best interest of the community.
Why Ron is Running
To strengthen trust, improve communication, and put members first.
Ron is running to help ensure Lake of the Pines continues to be guided by transparency, accountability, and a commitment to serving all members.
He believes:
-
Decisions should be made openly
-
Concerns should be addressed early
-
Members should have access to clear and accurate information
His focus is on strengthening trust, improving communication, and ensuring every member feels informed, respected, and heard.
His goal is simple: to bring steady, transparent, and member-focused leadership to Lake of the Pines.
Professional Background
Ron has spent his life building and leading businesses from the ground up.
He began working in his father’s accounting office before serving in the United States Marine Corps. After moving to California, he started in the lumber industry, working his way up from the mill floor into management.
He later founded and operated multiple businesses, including a millwork company and a general contracting business, building custom homes in Hillsborough and Woodside. He also owned a business in Auburn and worked with AM General supporting the Hummer program.
In 2008, Ron stepped away from his work to care for his wife, Kathy, during her battle with breast cancer. She was a longtime member of the Lake of the Pines community, and that experience deepened his appreciation for the strength, support, and connection that define this community.
Throughout his career, Ron has been known for hands-on leadership, financial discipline, and a commitment to doing the job right.
Ron’s commitment has always been simple: put members first ~ and always will.
“Serving on the Board isn’t about control ~ it’s about responsibility.”
